Miranda Weiss, author of TIDE, FEATHER, SNOW: A Life in Alaska

Miranda Weiss is the author of Tide, Feather, Snow: A Life in Alaska. The book was a Pacific Northwest Booksellers’ Association Bestseller and was picked by The Baltimore Sun as one of the “Best Books for a Snowstorm.” Her science and nature writing has appeared in The Washington Post, The American Scholar, Powells.com, Homer News, Columbia Science Review, and Ice-Floe: A Journal of Poetry of the Far North.

She received a BA in biology from Brown University and an MFA in creative writing from Columbia University.  She lives in Homer, Alaska with her husband and two daughters.
